After his wife's passing, an elderly scientist lives alone with his faithful dog. Learning of his limited time due to an illness, he frets over the well-being of his companion once he's gone. In a stroke of inspiration, he creates a robot to be both a friend and guardian for his beloved pet. As time goes on, the robot and the dog navigate a world, finding solace and strength in their reliance on each other.
